The City Press Club is proud to announce the development of The City Press Club Bistro, a unique dining concept that pays homage to the golden age of journalism while serving up authentic, comforting home style cooking. Located in the heart of the city’s historic Journal Square, the bistro is set to become the premier gathering spot for journalists, local residents, and food enthusiasts alike.

The new establishment, Journal Square, revives the cozy, intimate atmosphere of a classic Parisian bistrot, while incorporating vintage typewriters, historical newspaper clippings, and a timeless, mahogany-clad design that evokes the energy of a bustling 1920s newsroom.

A Culinary Haven for the Fourth Estate

“We wanted to create a space that feels like stepping back into the past, where reporters gathered to trade scoops over a good meal,” says Joseph Malik. “The Bistro is more than just a place to eat; it’s a living monument to the power of the press and the simple pleasure of well-made, unpretentious food.”

Menu Highlights:

The menu is focused on traditional home cooking, embracing the simplicity and heartiness defining the bistro concept:

  • Daily Specials (Plats du Jour): Featuring rotating classics like Beef Bourguignon, Coq au Vin, and traditional French onion soup.
  • Signature Dishes: Including a perfectly prepared Steak Frites and house-made Pâté de Campagne.
  • Artisanal Wines: A curated list local wines available by the glass or carafe.
